Product Description
Copper Slug Tape gives pots, planters, raised beds, cold frames and greenhouse staging a simple, non-toxic barrier against slugs and snails, without chemical pellets or pesticides.
The self-adhesive backing makes it quick to cut and stick around clean, dry pots, containers, window boxes and table legs. It will not stop every slug in every garden, so it works best alongside other humane deterrents.
Important: This copper tape is intended for gardening use only. It is not specified or tested for electrical, conductive, shielding, guitar, craft electronics or circuit applications.

Certification & product guidance
This product is intended for garden slug and snail deterrent use only. It should not be relied upon as a guaranteed pest control method and is best used alongside other humane deterrents. Performance can vary depending on weather, surface preparation, placement, pest pressure and garden conditions.
Due to its copper surface, the tape may gradually darken or develop a patina over time. This is a normal property of copper when exposed to air and outdoor conditions.
This product is not specified for electrical, conductive, shielding, technical, automotive, building, safety-critical or load-bearing use. Do not use where product failure could cause injury, damage or loss.
Disclaimer: This copper tape is intended for general gardening use only. It is the customer’s responsibility to determine whether the tape is suitable for their surface, garden conditions and intended use. Flashback Tape accepts no liability for poor adhesion, pest damage, incorrect application, unsuitable surfaces, misuse or use outside garden slug and snail deterrent applications.
Frequently asked questions
How does copper slug tape work?
Copper is commonly used by gardeners as a slug and snail deterrent. When slugs or snails come into contact with copper, it may create an unpleasant sensation that discourages them from crossing the barrier.
Will it stop every slug and snail?
No. Copper tape can help reduce slug and snail access, but it will not stop 100% of pests in every garden. It is best used with other humane deterrents and regular garden checks.
Can I use it on plastic pots?
Yes, it can be used on plastic pots and containers as long as the surface is clean, dry and smooth before application.
Can I use it on terracotta pots?
Yes, but terracotta can be porous and dusty, so clean and dry the surface thoroughly before applying. Adhesion may vary depending on the pot surface.
How wide should the copper barrier be?
For best results, many gardeners use a wider barrier. You can apply two strips side by side to create a broader copper band around the pot or container.
Will the copper change colour?
Yes. Copper naturally develops a patina over time, especially outdoors. This colour change is normal and does not necessarily mean the tape has failed.
Is this suitable for electrical use?
No. This tape is sold for gardening use only and is not specified or tested for electrical, conductive, shielding, circuit or guitar shielding applications.
