Flashback® Self-Adhesive Magnetic Tape is a flexible magnetic strip designed for light-duty fixing, displays, labelling and organisation tasks where permanent fixings are not suitable. The tape has a soft magnetic layer with a self-adhesive backing, making it easy to cut to length and apply to clean, smooth surfaces.

Suitable Surfaces

The adhesive side is suitable for many clean, dry and smooth surfaces, including paper, card, plastic, laminated sheets, lightweight signs, labels, charts and display materials. The magnetic side is designed to attach to suitable ferrous metal surfaces such as steel notice boards, metal cabinets, whiteboards, fridges and shelving. It will not stick magnetically to aluminium, plastic, wood, glass, stainless steel with low magnetic attraction or non-magnetic surfaces.

Magnetic Strength

This is a flexible magnetic tape designed for light-duty applications. Holding strength depends on the surface area used, the surface type, the weight of the item, contact quality and whether the surface is flat or uneven. For best results, use larger pieces of tape and apply to clean, flat ferrous metal surfaces.

Adhesive Information

The adhesive backing uses genuine 3M® pressure-sensitive adhesive, selected for its high initial tack and reliable bonding performance on suitable smooth surfaces. Bond strength can vary depending on the material, surface condition, temperature, application pressure and length of time applied. Always test first, especially on delicate, painted, coated, textured, dusty, damp or high-value surfaces.

Application Guide

1. Make sure the surface is clean, dry and free from dust, grease or loose material.
2. Cut the magnetic tape to the required length using suitable scissors or a sharp knife.
3. Peel away the backing from the self-adhesive side.
4. Apply to the back of the item you want to make magnetic.
5. Press down firmly across the full length of the tape.
6. Allow the adhesive to bond before use where possible.
7. Attach the magnetic side to a suitable ferrous metal surface.

Important Notes

This magnetic tape is designed for light-duty display and organisation use only. It is not suitable for heavy items, load-bearing applications, tools, sharp objects, safety-critical fixing or permanent structural mounting. Magnetic hold depends on the amount of tape used, the item weight, the metal surface and the quality of contact. Always test before full use to make sure the tape is suitable for your application.
